Asconi Winery is located in the village of Puhoi, in the Ialoveni region—just 30 km from the capital, Chișinău. This family-owned business was founded in 1994 and has been committed ever since to producing the best possible wines by combining modern technology with traditional Moldovan methods.

World-Class wines

The vineyard is primarily planted with French grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscat. Asconi also cultivates other grapes like Riesling, Malbec, and Pinot Noir. Using advanced Italian technology, the winery produces over 3 million bottles annually, focusing on white and red wines, along with smaller batches of rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines.

Stay at Asconi Winery

In the summer of 2019, Asconi opened a guesthouse on the estate, featuring 12 rustic cottages with a total of 20 rooms. These accommodations reflect traditional Moldovan architecture and offer modern comforts like a flat-screen TV, a minibar stocked with homemade snacks and Asconi wines, and a private bathroom.

Guests can relax in flower and vegetable gardens next to their cottage and stroll along the charming vine-covered alley—perfect for photos and peaceful walks.

Activities and workshops for visitors

At Asconi Winery, visitors can take part in a variety of activities, including:

• Wine Tastings and Tours: Learn about the winemaking process and sample a selection of Asconi wines during a guided tour.
• Baking Workshops: Discover how to make traditional Moldovan plăcinta in a fun and interactive session.
• Art Workshops: Join wine-inspired art sessions led by local artists and create your own unique souvenir.

Asconi also hosts annual events such as the “Mai Vin” spring picnic festival and “Wine Day”, celebrated on the first weekend of October. During these festive occasions, you can enjoy young wines, traditional dishes, and live Moldovan dancing.
