A visit to Et Cetera is more than just a tasting; it’s a behind-the-scenes look at a real family business. The tour usually begins outdoors, in the vineyards, where grapes are handpicked with care. Then, you’re guided into the wine cellar, where — sometimes with winemaker Alexandru himself — you’ll taste wines directly from the barrel. You’ll learn all about fermentation, aging, and bottling, gaining an in-depth and honest view of how wine is crafted here with love and attention.
After the tour around the winery, take a seat in the cozy tasting room or on the terrace of the small restaurant. Here, you can sample between 4 and 10 wines, ranging from elegant whites to rich reds and sparkling varieties. The tasting is often paired with a homemade meal, prepared by the mother of the family. Think traditional Moldovan dishes like placinte (savory pastries) and mămăligă (cornmeal porridge).
Et Cetera operates by reservation only, for both tours and overnight stays. Visits are available from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 and 18:00. Weekend visits are possible by appointment. Tours are offered in English, Romanian, or Russian and are often personally guided by one of the brothers. Transportation from Chișinău can be arranged upon request.
