Highlights include the Duruitoarea Veche Cave and the Fetești Gorge, often called “Little Switzerland” because of its stunning views.

The best time to hike in Moldova

Thanks to Moldova’s location and climate in Southeastern Europe, most of the year is pleasant for hiking. Summer is the most popular season, with long, sunny days. Keep in mind it can get quite hot, so bring plenty of water.

Spring (late April to early June) is ideal if you prefer cooler temperatures and blooming wildflowers. Autumn (September to October) is another perfect time to hike and enjoy the colorful fall foliage in the forests and vineyards.
