Discover Crama Mircești in Moldova

Crama Mircești is one of the most promising wineries in Moldova. Often referred to as the “Little Tuscany” of the country, this winery is located in the village of Mircești, in the Ungheni district — about 80 km from Chișinău. Though founded relatively recently in 2011, Crama Mircești has quickly built a strong reputation by blending modern winemaking techniques with a deep respect for historical traditions.

A winery with historic roots

Crama Mircești is housed in a restored manor built in the Brâncoveanu architectural style, once owned by a local nobleman. Restoration began in 2011, alongside the planting of the first vines. Today, the vineyard spans 15 hectares across the hills of Măgura — an area often nicknamed the “Little Tuscany of Moldova” for its breathtaking landscapes and ideal terroir for growing grapes.

Innovation at the heart of Crama Mircești

Under the leadership of owner Arcadie Foșnea — who honed his winemaking skills in Germany — Crama Mircești has made significant investments in modern technology. The winery features its own weather station for precise climate monitoring and uses drones to inspect and maintain the vineyards. This innovative approach has played a key role in producing wines with a bold and distinctive character.

A diverse range of grape varieties

Crama Mircești’s vineyards are home to both international and native grape varieties. International cultivars such as Pinot Noir, Saperavi, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Riesling are carefully nurtured. At the same time, the winery proudly preserves traditional Moldovan varieties like Feteasca Neagră, Rara Neagră, Feteasca Regală, and Feteasca Albă — all of which reflect the deep-rooted winemaking heritage of the region.
